Following its first inspection in November, Vida Grange has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission – a score currently awarded to only 2% of care homes in the country.

Vida Grange EntranceThe home secured its outstanding rating for its caring ethos and effective approach to care. The report highlighted the person-centred approach in the home, recognising the efforts made to meet people’s individual needs and the very positive impact this had on their wellbeing. The inspectors were also impressed with the specialist training, excellent support and mentorship staff at the home were given to ensure they had the skills and knowledge to provide the highest standards of care and support.

Residents living at Vida told inspectors they were supported by exceptionally caring staff who respected their privacy and dignity and families reported that they were made to feel welcome and were fully involved in their loved one’s support and wellbeing.

The inspectors also commented on the benefits of the carefully designed, purpose-built environment, which kept residents safe, promoted independent living and helped to reduce anxiety and stress.

Vida Grange joins a select group of only 23 care homes throughout Yorkshire and the Humberside to have achieved a rating of ‘Outstanding’ overall. The good news follows on the heels of the Great British Care awards, where the Vida Healthcare’s Managing Director, James Rycroft, won the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Care’ award in the Yorkshire Regional Finals.

James commented, “It really has been an incredible year for us at Vida. I’m so proud of the whole team, who work tirelessly to provide the best care for our residents and their families. This report really is a true testament to all the hard work, dedication and kindness I see every day in our homes. It means the world to everyone here to be recognised as an outstanding service”

Bernadette Mossman, Healthcare Director at Vida added, “The CQC’s inspections take place unannounced and take into account feedback from residents, families, staff and other visitors to the home. We’re incredibly proud of our report findings, which really are a true reflection of the home and demonstrate our commitment to quality care.”
