Chris Rycroft

Chairman


Chris Rycroft is a successful businessman and entrepreneur. In 2010, along with son James, he created Vida Healthcare with a view to developing a pioneering care home for people living with dementia, after recognising that the care sector wasn’t meeting the increasing demand for specialist dementia facilities.

James Rycroft

Managing Director


James is responsible for overseeing the design and development of Vida Healthcare's homes. He feels privileged to be able to influence the delivery of dementia care in the UK. Working closely with Bernadette and the healthcare team, James facilitates the delivery of outstanding care for all residents as well as planning future projects and developments for Vida Healthcare.

Bernadette Mossman

Healthcare Director


Bernadette is an experienced healthcare professional who started her career as a community psychiatric nurse in Glasgow. She boasts more than 25 years' experience in both public and private sector roles. Prior to joining Vida in October 2011, she worked as a regional manager for a large care provider where she was responsible for managing ten homes comprising of 450 personnel and 300 beds.

Jill Young

Operations Director


With more than ten years' experience in the care industry, Jill is responsible for day-to-day operations at Vida Healthcare. Overseeing all aspects of hotel services and facilities management, this allows our Healthcare Director, Bernadette, to concentrate solely on healthcare and the continued delivery of a best practice working environment, knowing that the operational side is in good hands.

Wendy Korcu


Wendy became a Registered General Nurse (RGN) in 1986 and in her 30 years’ experience has worked in a variety of acute environments before specialising in elderly healthcare. Wendy's passion is delivering exceptional dementia care and is committed to leading the team at Vida Hall in her drive for constant innovation and improvement. She has completed a Diploma of Higher Education in Dementia studies with Bradford university and is a Dementia Care Mapper. She has more recently completed the renowned Quality end of life care for all (QELCA) training with St Michael’s hospice. Wendy was shortlisted for the Home Manager of the year at the Great British Care Awards in 2017. “I am very proud to be the Registered Manager at Vida Hall, leading my compassionate and dedicated team in the support of our residents and families.”

Pam Farres


Pam has worked in care for more than 30 years, 25 of which have been in dementia care. She has been a part of the team at Vida Hall since it opened and holds a Dementia Care Mapping qualification from the University of Bradford. In 2015 she studied culture change in dementia care through the Dementia Care Matters programme, gaining a qualification through the University of Surrey. In 2015, Pam was shortlisted for the final of the Great British Care Awards in the Category ‘Dementia Carer of the Year’. “Meaningful and effective dementia care is very close to my heart both personally and professionally. I gain great satisfaction from working closely with my residents and their families.”

Pam Boldock


Pam qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) in 1981. She has worked in a variety of settings but from 1984 focused on dementia care. Pam has been part of the team since Vida Hall opened and holds a Dementia Care Mapping qualification from the University of Bradford. Pam is also a qualified student mentor and has helped to establish Vida Hall as a recognised placement for University of Bradford nursing students. " I have a passion for mentoring students and helping them to discover how rewarding and enjoyable dementia care can be.”

Operations Manager

Tracy Cliff


Tracy is responsible for the day to day operations at Vida Hall, overseeing the Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance teams. She has worked in a care home environment for the past seven years in both residential and dementia care settings. Her role ensures smooth running of the home, allowing Wendy to focus on maintaining excellent standards of care. “I am delighted to be part of such a dedicated and innovative team that brings positivity to the home every day.”

Theresa McNally


Theresa attended Art School before becoming a Mental Health Nurse and has managed several projects, all with a focus on the behavioural models of care and support. Theresa’s role at Vida is to train staff about person-centred approaches to dementia. Theresa won ‘Care Trainer of the year 2015’ in the Yorkshire Great British Care Awards. Theresa runs the Family Support Network and also works directly with residents using Art, Music and Puppetry to engage them . “Working at Vida allows me to work with my true self and to support others to do the same”

Hazel Bellamy


Hazel joined the team at Vida Hall in June 2018 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked within the care sector for over fifteen years as a health and social care training coordinator. Hazel makes a welcome addition to Vida Hall, a caring and conscientious nature coupled with a high level of qualification in Business Administration and level 5 Diploma in Management. “It is a pleasure to work with and be part of such a wonderful team here at Vida Hall.”

Clare Shuker


Clare joined Vida Hall in 2014 and has worked in the Elderly Care sector for over ten years in various roles ranging from Senior Carer to Health & Social Care NVQ Assessor. During Clare's time at university, she took a community based route where she was able to source her own placements in primary and community care settings; district nursing, hospice care, palliative care, community matrons to name a few. After qualifying from university as a trained nurse, Clare went on to further train to be a Practice Nurse and earned a triangulated role between Leeds West CCG. "It was so refreshing to step foot into Vida Hall and instantly feel like I belonged. To see the leaps that had been taken in specialist dementia care was overwhelming yet inspiring. My proudest moment during my time at Vida was receiving the extra mile award in December."

Amanda Whitehouse


Amanda has worked in health & social care for more than 30 years. She has been a part of the team at Vida Hall for 2 years and holds a Dementia Care Mapping qualification from the University of Bradford. She has her Registered Managers Award and has studied through various NVQ programmes. Amanda was awarded the most dedicated employee of the year award for Vida Hall in 2018. “I am very proud to be overseeing the two residential houses at Vida Hall. I strongly believe in Vida Healthcare’s ethos and I am passionate in supporting people who live with Dementia.



Learning and Development Manager

John Daly


John has worked in the Health and Care sector for over fifteen years. John has a degree in Business Management and is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner. Other areas of specialism include the design, development & management of complex learning & development programmes. John is an experienced facilitator in key aspects of the Health and Social Care sector and has been instrumental in the delivery of a wide portfolio of successful programmes in areas including Behavioural Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD), Learning Disability, Mental Health and Substance Dependence.

Helen Daly


Helen is an experienced Programme Manager and Registered Health Care Professional. With 35 years' experience of working in the field of Continuous Quality Improvement at a national and local level in the pre-hospital, hospital, community health care and education sectors. Helen's aim across all service areas is to ensure a clear focus on clinical leadership and a robust evidence base to deliver positive outcomes. Helen has a Masters in Business Administration.
