Meet the Team

Chris Rycroft


Chris Rycroft is a successful businessman and entrepreneur. In 2010, along with son James, he created Vida Healthcare with a view to developing a pioneering care home for people living with dementia, after recognising that the care sector wasn’t meeting the increasing demand for specialist dementia facilities.

James Rycroft

Managing Director

James is responsible for overseeing the design and development of Vida Healthcare's homes. He feels privileged to be able to influence the delivery of dementia care in the UK. Working closely with Bernadette and the healthcare team, James facilitates the delivery of outstanding care for all residents as well as planning future projects and developments for Vida Healthcare.

Bernadette Mossman

Healthcare Director

Bernadette is an experienced healthcare professional who started her career as a community psychiatric nurse in Glasgow. She boasts more than 25 years' experience in both public and private sector roles. Prior to joining Vida in October 2011, she worked as a regional manager for a large care provider where she was responsible for managing ten homes comprising of 450 personnel and 300 beds.

Jill Young

Operations Director

With more than ten years' experience in the care industry, Jill is responsible for day-to-day operations at Vida Healthcare. Overseeing all aspects of hotel services and facilities management, this allows our Healthcare Director, Bernadette, to concentrate solely on healthcare and the continued delivery of a best practice working environment, knowing that the operational side is in good hands.

Clare Shuker

Clare joined Vida Hall in 2014 and has worked in the Elderly Care sector for over ten years in various roles ranging from Senior Carer to Health & Social Care NVQ Assessor. During Clare's time at university, she took a community based route where she was able to source her own placements in primary and community care settings; district nursing, hospice care, palliative care, community matrons to name a few. After qualifying from university as a trained nurse, Clare went on to further train to be a Practice Nurse and earned a triangulated role between Leeds West CCG.

Pam Farres

Deputy Home Manager

Pam has worked in care for more than 30 years, 25 of which have been in dementia care. She has been a part of the team at Vida Hall since it opened and holds a Dementia Care Mapping qualification from the University of Bradford. In 2015 she studied culture change in dementia care through the Dementia Care Matters programme, gaining a qualification through the University of Surrey. In 2015, Pam was shortlisted for the final of the Great British Care Awards in the Category ‘Dementia Carer of the Year’.
Meaningful and effective dementia care is very close to my heart both personally and professionally. I gain great satisfaction from working closely with my residents and their families.

Tracy Cliff

Operations Manager

Tracy is responsible for the day to day operations at Vida Hall, overseeing the Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance teams. She has worked in a care home environment for the past seven years in both residential and dementia care settings. Her role ensures smooth running of the home, allowing Wendy to focus on maintaining excellent standards of care.
I am delighted to be part of such a dedicated and innovative team that brings positivity to the home every day.

Theresa McNally

Creative Practice Manager

Theresa attended Art School before becoming a Mental Health Nurse and has managed several projects, all with a focus on the behavioural models of care and support. Theresa’s role at Vida is to train staff about person-centred approaches to dementia. Theresa won ‘Care Trainer of the year 2015’ in the Yorkshire Great British Care Awards. Theresa runs the Family Support Network and also works directly with residents using Art, Music and Puppetry to engage them.
Working at Vida allows me to work with my true self and to support others to do the same.

Hazel Bellamy

Home Administrator

Hazel joined the team at Vida Hall in June 2018 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked within the care sector for over fifteen years as a health and social care training coordinator. Hazel makes a welcome addition to Vida Hall, a caring and conscientious nature coupled with a high level of qualification in Business Administration and level 5 Diploma in Management.
It is a pleasure to work with and be part of such a wonderful team here at Vida Hall.

Amanda WhiteHouse

House Manager

Amanda has worked in health & social care for more than 30 years and is now the House Manager of Meadow View. She has been a part of the team at Vida Hall for 2 years and holds a Dementia Care Mapping qualification from the University of Bradford. She has her Registered Managers Award and has studied through various NVQ programmes. Amanda was awarded the most dedicated employee of the year award for Vida Hall in 2018.
I am very proud to be overseeing Meadow View house at Vida Hall. I strongly believe in Vida Healthcare’s ethos and I am passionate in supporting people who live with Dementia.

Akos Heresznyei

Akos has worked in health & social care for more than 10 years. He has been a part of the team at Vida Hall for 7 years since opening. After six years’ experience in team leadership, this year Akos became House manager for Woodlands and is focusing on to improve quality of service for residents with passion and with innovative approach. Akos is dedicated to concentrate on our residents’ individuality, physical and psychological needs to improve and maintain high level of well-being for our residents and their families.

Sarah Davy Walker

Sara has worked in Dementia care for 15 years and has been at Vida hall since it opened. Sara became a Team leader working on both residential houses, on days and nights. Sara has experience in elderly care and is passionate about supporting both residents and relatives with a caring and compassionate nature. Sara has achieved her NVQ 3 in care and is currently completing a leadership and management course. Sara became House manager for Orchard view this year and is focusing on maintaining and improving our very high standard of care and supporting the staff team to follow the Vida ethos.

Emma Lister

Marketing Manager

Emma graduated Long Island University in New York City in 2009 with a BSc in Business Management and Marketing. Emma joined Vida in August 2018 and brings experience in digital marketing including, social media, search platforms and content marketing to the team. Emma helps to position Vida Healthcare as the UK's leader in dementia care.
It's an honour to work for Vida Healthcare and i'm proud to be a part of the outstanding team.

John Daly

Learning & Development Manager

John has worked in the Health and Care sector for over fifteen years. John has a degree in Business Management and is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner. Other areas of specialism include the design, development & management of complex learning & development programmes. John is an experienced facilitator in key aspects of the Health and Social Care sector and has been instrumental in the delivery of a wide portfolio of successful programmes in areas including Behavioural Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD), Learning Disability, Mental Health and Substance Dependence.

Helen Daly

Helen is an experienced Programme Manager and Registered Health Care Professional. With 35 years' experience of working in the field of Continuous Quality Improvement at a national and local level in the pre-hospital, hospital, community health care and education sectors. Helen's aim across all service areas is to ensure a clear focus on clinical leadership and a robust evidence base to deliver positive outcomes. Helen has a Masters in Business Administration.

Emma Wood

Emma joined Vida Healthcare in November 2020. Emma graduated from Northumbria University with a BA Honours in Hospitality Management in 2005, and brings a wealth of experience in building trusted relationships with clients. As Admissions Manager, Emma is likely to be the first point of contact for friends and families enquiring about our homes for loved ones, and she feels all our residents – along with their family and friends - receive supportive, caring, friendly and informative advice when considering Vida Healthcare as their new home.
I feel very proud to have been welcomed to the Vida team as Admissions Manager. To work with people who put the care and wellbeing of their residents at the forefront of everything they do, is delightfully refreshing! I am honoured to be in a role that enables me to be the ‘first point of contact’ for family members who are considering a specialist care setting for their loved ones.

Sam Rhodes

Sam studied Hospitality Management at the University of Central Lancashire and then fell into recruitment which she has now been doing for over 25 years. Covering all different specialisms – Nurses in Saudi Arabia, Social Workers & Support Workers around Yorkshire and recently all different levels, roles and specialisms around the country. Sam joined Vida in November 2020.
