Meet the Team

Chris Rycroft


Chris Rycroft is a successful businessman and entrepreneur. In 2010, along with son James, he created Vida Healthcare with a view to developing a pioneering care home for people living with dementia, after recognising that the care sector wasn’t meeting the increasing demand for specialist dementia facilities.

James Rycroft

Managing Director

James is responsible for overseeing the design and development of Vida Healthcare's homes. He feels privileged to be able to influence the delivery of dementia care in the UK. Working closely with Bernadette and the healthcare team, James facilitates the delivery of outstanding care for all residents as well as planning future projects and developments for Vida Healthcare.

Bernadette Mossman

Healthcare Director

Bernadette is an experienced healthcare professional who started her career as a community psychiatric nurse in Glasgow. She boasts more than 25 years' experience in both public and private sector roles. Prior to joining Vida in October 2011, she worked as a regional manager for a large care provider where she was responsible for managing ten homes comprising of 450 personnel and 300 beds.

Jill Young

Operations Director

With more than ten years experience in the care industry, Jill is responsible for day-to-day operations at Vida Healthcare. Overseeing all aspects of hotel services and facilities management, this allows our Healthcare Director, Bernadette, to concentrate solely on healthcare and the continued delivery of a best practice working environment, knowing that the operational side is in good hands.

Gil Chimon

Gil has worked in the voluntary and community sector for over 25 years. Gil has held leadership roles in social care and housing where he led an organisation turnaround from CQC ‘requires improvement’ to overall ‘good’ in under 12 months, as Registered Manager. Gil has undertaken further Master’s level studies in Charity Resources Management and holds a Diploma in Charity Accounting. Gil joined Vida Grange in May 2020 and is a passionate advocate about the delivery of high quality needs led, person centred and innovative services.

Sharon Oldfield

Trainee Home Manager

Sharon joined Vida Healthcare in 2013 as Administrator and became the General manager at Vida Grange in 2019. Sharon is now training to be Home Manager for Vida Court. Sharon's background is in financial services but she began working in the field of dementia in 2006 for NHS. Sharon is currently working towards her Level 5 Leadership and Management.

Lesley McCready

Quality Service Manager

Lesley has worked in Health and Social care for over 22 years and joined Vida in 2013. With many years’ experience in the care sector and she is passionate about the delivery of quality dementia care. Vida’s ethos of care focuses on quality throughout every aspect of our service and Lesley's role involves promoting the highest possible standards. Lesley supports the Home Manager and care team to ensure the highest quality standards are met in the delivery of care. Lesley is also involved in Vida's training programme, delivering training in positive behaviour support, oral hygiene, medication administration and infection control.

Theresa McNally

Creative Practice Manager

Theresa attended Art School before becoming a Mental Health Nurse and has managed several projects, all with a focus on the behavioural models of care and support. Theresa’s role at Vida is to train staff about person-centred approaches to dementia. Theresa won ‘Care Trainer of the year 2015’ in the Yorkshire Great British Care Awards. Theresa runs the Family Support Network and also works directly with residents using Art, Music and Puppetry to engage them .

Arron Bolland

Arron is a Registered Mental Health Nurse who joined Vida Healthcare in 2013. Arron’s role enables him to focus his support for those residents who present with complex behaviours and those of a younger generation. Arron trains staff in the application of “Positive Behaviour Support” approaches to support those who experience behavioural and psychological symptoms of Dementia.
Working with Vida allows me to look at new and innovative ways to support those in my care achieve their own sense of belonging.

Sarolta Toldi

Sarolta qualified as a Registered General Nurse in Hungary in 2007 and completed a higher post graduation as a Mentor for student nurses. Sarolta brought her wealth of experience and joined Vida in 2017 after being a unit manager in a dementia setting home. Sarolta has completed training with David Sheard in Dementia Care Matters, achieving person-centred care for those living with dementia.
Vida has allowed me to promote the residents well-being and being a part of their life everyday, which gives me great satisfaction.

Joanne Mossman

Joanne is a Registered Mental Health Nurse who has worked alongside people living with dementia since she was 16. Joanne stated working as a weekend receptionist in a care home and did various roles until she was able to work as a Care Assistant. Joanne worked at Vida Hall whilst completing her nurse training. Once qualified, Joanne worked on a Dementia Care Assessment Ward in Newcastle prior to returning to Vida Grange as a Nurse.
I've found working within Vida so rewarding. To be able to make positive changes for people living with dementia is so special and working here I can do that every day.

Helen Shaw

Helen is a Registered Mental Health nurse who joined Vida Grange as a member of the core team in November 2016. Helen has worked in healthcare for over 22 years, mostly in the NHS. She gained a higher certificate of education in healthcare and a degree in health and social care before becoming a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Helen is a trained PIDC facilitator and soon progressed to a House Manager in 2020.
Working at Vida allows me to be a part of a forward thinking team that delivers person centred care. It can be challenging but most of all it is rewarding working alongside others, all making a positive difference to people on their dementia journey.

Megan Perez

House Manager

Megan has worked in health & social care for the last five years after receiving her Masters in Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University. She has been part of the team at Vida since October 2018 and previously worked in a variety of care settings including community care, dual diagnosis, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
“Vida is a very special place and it has given me a new understanding of the true meaning of care. It's so refreshing coming to work every day and being able to manage a team of like-minded individuals who have the resident’s best interests in their every thought. Vida continues to make a positive influence in the understanding of Dementia care; and I am proud I get to be part of this.”

Pam Boldock

Pam qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) in 1981. She has worked in a variety of settings but from 1984 focused on dementia care. Pam has been part of the team since Vida opened and holds a Dementia Care Mapping qualification from the University of Bradford. Pam is also a qualified student mentor and has helped to establish Vida as a recognised placement for University of Bradford nursing students.
I have a passion for mentoring students and helping them to discover how rewarding and enjoyable dementia care can be.

Nick Richardson

Head Chef

Nick has been a chef for over 37 years and is a classic old school trained chef. Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, Nick has been a Head Chef for over 20 years at elite establishments such as Hilton right through to fine dining and banqueting. He has worked in Australia and all over England.
My passion to produce tasty and appetising meals my residents and to see the residents pleased faces from the food my team has produced.

Emma Lister

Marketing Manager

Emma graduated Long Island University in New York City in 2009 with a BSc in Business Management and Marketing. Emma joined Vida in August 2018 and brings experience in digital marketing including, social media, search platforms and content marketing to the team. Emma helps to position Vida Healthcare as the UK's leader in dementia care.
It's an honour to work for Vida and i'm proud to be a part of the outstanding team.

Emma joined Vida Healthcare in November 2020. Emma graduated from Northumbria University with a BA Honours in Hospitality Management in 2005, and brings a wealth of experience in building trusted relationships with clients. As Admissions Manager, Emma is likely to be the first point of contact for friends and families enquiring about our homes for loved ones, and she feels all our residents – along with their family and friends - receive supportive, caring, friendly and informative advice when considering Vida Healthcare as their new home.
I feel very proud to have been welcomed to the Vida team as Admissions Manager. To work with people who put the care and wellbeing of their residents at the forefront of everything they do, is delightfully refreshing! I am honoured to be in a role that enables me to be the ‘first point of contact’ for family members who are considering a specialist care setting for their loved ones.

Sam Rhodes

Sam studied Hospitality Management at the University of Central Lancashire and then fell into recruitment which she has now been doing for over 25 years. Covering all different specialisms – Nurses in Saudi Arabia, Social Workers & Support Workers around Yorkshire and recently all different levels, roles and specialisms around the country. Sam joined Vida in November 2020.

John Daly

Learning & Development Manager

John has worked in the Health and Care sector for over fifteen years. John has a degree in Business Management and is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner. Other areas of specialism include the design, development & management of complex learning & development programmes. John is an experienced facilitator in key aspects of the Health and Social Care sector and has been instrumental in the delivery of a wide portfolio of successful programmes in areas including Behavioural Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD), Learning Disability, Mental Health and Substance Dependence.

Helen Daly

Helen is an experienced Programme Manager and Registered Health Care Professional. With 35 years' experience of working in the field of Continuous Quality Improvement at a national and local level in the pre-hospital, hospital, community health care and education sectors. Helen's aim across all service areas is to ensure a clear focus on clinical leadership and a robust evidence base to deliver positive outcomes. Helen has a Masters in Business Administration.

Debs Bannister

Debs is responsible for the front of house at Vida Hall. Debs joined Vida Healthcare nearly two years ago, firstly being a Residential Team Leader at Vida Grange. She has a wealth of knowledge, experience and understanding of Health & Social Care and studied Dementia at Bradford University. Debs's role as Receptionist is very fulfilling with huge job satisfaction. Bringing knowledge and past experience of PA to the role today. She is here for all staff, residents and their families and finds it is most essential that visitors are always greeted with a warm, caring and compassionate welcoming greeting.
I am very proud to work & maintain the Ethos we have at Vida. I truly believe in the vision we have at Vida to support our residents living with Dementia.
