Knitting has been known as one of the effective activities to slow the dementia process ( https://laine-madeunique.com/blog/knitting-helps-fight-dementia).
Here at Vida Grange, a lot of our residents grew up knitting so they are able to take part in the one of their favourite hobbies.
Knitting is also a great way to reminisce. Our residents enjoy telling stories of their past about the pieces of items that they have knitted, from blankets to clothes and accessories for their loved ones.
“It’s so lovely to hear our residents memories, and knitting is one of those activities that allows this stimulation and engagement” Wellbeing member
