Vida Hall is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC

Vida Healthcare Harrogate

The Care Quality Commission has rated Vida Hall as ‘Outstanding’ following an inspection carried out in November 2014 – the highest rating ever given to a specialist dementia facility at the time and the first care home in the northern region to have achieved this level under the new, more rigorous CQC inspection criteria.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. They work to ensure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, caring, well-led and responsive care. They also monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety.

Debbie Westhead, Deputy Chief Inspector for Adult Social Care in the North, said: “We found that Vida Hall was providing an outstanding service to the people it supported and to their families, and the team there should be extremely proud of the work they do. It is very clear that Vida Hall has adopted some ground-breaking initiatives. Staff act with utmost professionalism and management was dedicated to providing a safe, compassionate and high quality service. It is for this and many other reasons, that the service has received the highest rating we can give.”

Vida Hall provides accommodation for up to 70 people who live with a dementia related condition. A full report of the inspection can be downloaded from the Vida Hall website. Visit http://www.vidahall.co.uk
